Mueller scopes versus recoil

looking at the optics zone special this month on mueller scopes and i think after reading everyones reviews this is the scope i want. Now my question i want to mount this on a weatherby vanguard in 300 weatherby magnum. This gun has shook several lesser scopes apart. How well can i expect the mueller to hold up to this?
I read the warrenty info and that looks good but when the shot is upon me i need performance not warrenty work.
is this the scope for me?

Read thru the reviews at Mueller and if that doesn't help, give Rich a call at Mueller, he's a straight shooter and will give you his opinion. There's one review of an Eraticator on a 375H&H and a 50BMG, and another on a 300WSSM.

The scope I tested was the Mueller 8.5/25/50 AO red
dot. Here is what I did in my shop with the scope. First I put it on my
bench 22lr rifle and sighted it in. then I shot the scope for square . this
test is five shot groups then, I turned the scope left nine clicks and shot
five more . then up nine clicks and right nine then nine down . When the
last five were right in the same place the first five were . not to bad for
having five miles an hour winds . When I took the scope off the 22 and put it on my 375 H&H . I took the rifle and put it on the bench that I use for test actions . in a vise .strapping the gun down. and the butt of the gun up tight against a block wall so the recoil of the gun would not go back . this way the scope has to take all the force of the recoil . after 100 rounds from that . I shot the scope for groups on the 22 again.then I put it on my 50 cal BMG and shot 20 rounds through it. then back to the 22 for the final test to see if it held center. after this test, I think this scope will hold up to just about anything you can do to this scope . most scopes in this price range would not hold up to all this.

I don't know if it can handle the recoil of a .300 Weatherby, but even if it can handle such recoil, does it have enough eye relief?  I have been looking at these scopes, but I think that they don't have a lot of relief (in my opinion that is.)

Can anybody tell us how much eye relief Mueller's 4x-16x-50mm has?

I am with you on this one.  I have a 4-16x50 Mueller sport dot on  
my .223 Tikka T-3.  I like the scope, but I won't be looking at  
any scope short of 4" of eye relief for a new 338 RUM that I am  
scheming for now.  I have always wondered why it is so difficult
to get longer eye relief in scopes?  Although I am not impressed with  
the clarity, and brightness, of my Leupold VX-II, I really appreciate
the eye relief when I pull the trigger on my warm Barnes TSX  
loads, in my 300 WSM.  I have a Nikon Monarch, on my Tikka
M695, in .25-06 Rem., and the last time at the range, working
up some 100 gr. TSX loads for antelope, and elk, I had the  
scope just touch the top of my eye socket...So much for a loose
relax shouldering of the rifle off the bench!  I WANT MORE EYE
RELIEF!  Please.

I have a Mueller Sport Dot 3-9x40, German #4 Illum. Dot on my rifle.  It has 3 1/4" eye relief.  I haven't had any problems but only shoot a little Marlin 444S with Buffalo Bore 300 gr. loads.

I have always wondered why it is so difficult
to get longer eye relief in scopes?  

From what I understand, it is not difficult to get longer eye relief, but rather a compromise of eye relief versus field of view (FOV).  The wider the FOV, the shorter the eye relief.  The longer the eye relief, the shorter the FOV.

I would much rather have longer eye relief than wider FOV.  Are we in the minority here?  Sounds like I'm going to make a new post about this issue.
