STOCK REPAIR

I NEED TO REFINNISH AN OLD SHOTG STOCK.  HAVE STRIPPED THE OLD GUNK OFF BUT WANT SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO REFINNISH IT.  WHAT KIND OF OIL DO YOU USE IF JUST RUBBING?  OTHER OPTIONS.   THANKS

Get yourself a bottle of Caseys Tru-Oil,follow the instructions on the bottle and you will do fine.The first one I did,35 years ago,came out quite satiafactory.

Yep, RayO has it right.  Casey's "True Oil".  My only other suggestion would be to use a filler first for the minuet voids.  It will save you from having to do as many coats of the True Oil to get a real smooth finish.  I can't remember the name of the filler I bought to do my dad's stock and my M1 Carbine buildups, but you just rub it on the stock and sand off the excess, then go to the True Oil application.
