..... Somethings up with Randy because "no one" sells a 200 yard 3" tack-driver like that unless his real interest is just testing new models like the upcoming Optima/Apex
I shot both the Black Diamond XR & Omega (both new purchases from my close huntin' buddies). I was forced to use my emergency-use Traditions Tracker 209 22" cause my dog knocked-over my Rolling Block the night b/4 Muzzleloading season began.
As far as Omega recoil goes, all three of us huntin' buddies were all new & naive to this 150 grain stuff so we all shot full power to start. My Tracker had the worst recoil at 150 with the Omega coming in a close 2nd. I think the difference was due to the xtra 6" of Omega barrel. The Bl. Dia XR felt the most tame and the funny part was I was out-grouping :-D these guys with my $99 rifle.
So now I decided to semi-retire the Rolling Block & keep the Tracker for briars & alders hunting only. I balanced it with 2lbs of bolts & foam in the buttstock -- put on some real Williams sights and shimmed the stock/barrel connection. It is now a sweet shooter... handles the Precision Keith blunt-nose bullets 2" @ 100 yards. It's a perfect small branch chopper there... however the Apex is calling me for the longer shots... can't wait to see if it fits me. I see a noticeable difference between the Winchester X-150 and the CVA Firebolt... which are really brother & sister. That's why I'm leaning towards the Apex rather than the Optima.
