I have used the Remington 150 Grain spirepoint in several 357 mags. The bullets actually shoot extremely accurately in my 10 inch 357 Mag contender and my Marlin carbine-don't forget all the warnings about pointed bullets in the tubular magazine!! Use it with one in the chamber and only one in the mag if you choose. The bullets are too long for my Smith M28 cylinder. Never shot anything that bleeds with it though, I don't suspect at the 16-1800 fps range these guns produce it would expand all that well as they were designed for 2400fps in the 35 Rem.
I have used the Hornady 180 grain SSP in the 357 contender, extremely accurate and I think one that might expand at the velocities available. Never got around to using it in the Marlin though.
I guess I get to shoot alot more paper and dirt than animals these days.
