I have been turkey hunting for a number of years, both spring and fall seasons, in ny, pa, mass, va, w.va, fla, to name a few. I bought a mag-10 when ithaca first came out with them, probably, late or early 70's. When the gun got too valuable to carry, I went with what was the called a remington sp-10. Same gun, different name, that's all. I cut the barrel to 23inches, put a chrome-ally forcing cone in it, put a set of williams slugger fire sights on the rib, and it's an awesome turkey machine!!!!!!!. The only drawback is as you know, the WEIGHT. It's a extremely heavy gun, but the short barrel more than makes up for it. I haven't used it in 3 seasons now, I bought a charles-daly full camo synthetic 3and one half incher, half the weight, and almost the same gun. Same sight set-up, only I had a friend of mine make me a choke for it, and it too is one turkey machine. IF you guys want me to, I'll give you the name of the choke manufacturer. The best turkey choke in the business, in my opinion. Try the 10 ga, you'll really love it, minus the weight. slik 1
