Piedmont Gun Club

Had the pleasure last weekend of shooting at the inaugural smallbore rifle silhouette match at the Piedmont Gun Club in Rutherfordton, NC.  Located in the beautiful foothills of western North Carolina about 40 miles southeast of Asheville.

This is a safe andfun place to shoot!  Benny and Kathryn Grigg have put in a huge amount of work and the club funded the project to the tune of over $3K to create an A++++ range.  Individual target stands are permanent with sand berms so you can see every shot.  They even brought home made chocolate cake, soft drinks, and some door prizes.

If you can make there on the second Saturday of the month you won't regret it.

BTW, it's great to live in an area where you can shoot matches each weekend of the month.  Five ranges within driving distance.

Rub it in... I have 1 great range 30 mins away and another 2 hours away. Fun to visit both! But 5....WOW..LUcky dog. I honestly don't know if my wife would permit me to shoot any more than I am though...LOL

Gee George doesn't everyone have at least one match on every weekend day. I have some days that I have to choose between 2 22 matches and a HP Match. Then on other days the choice is between air rifle silh or 22. on the slow days there is only one match to go to. What a cross to bare.  Only problem up here is our season is a little shorter than you guys that get to shoot year round outside.
