Have 222 Remington and not loaded much for it.  What is the best powder you guys have used.  Just getting back into reloading and have used IMR
powders mainly in the past for other guns.

                      thanks Coalminer7

Simple!  50-52gr bullets and 4198 (IMR or H) or RL7, that is if you don't want to waste time.  If you have time, newest possible contender, AA2015.

I agree with the 3 listed above. I would add that H322 might be considered.

nofun1,
Thanks for the reply, but i did not see Varget listed in my Hornady 6th edition manual.  Could you please provide some start stop information.  I am really trying to get Vmax bullets to shoot, 40-50 grain
weights.

                 thanks  Coalminer 7

CM7,

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier.  I Bought a used 222 Rem from a competition shooter who sold it because it won't shoot as well as he wanted.  He was an excellent record keeper and I received target and load for every round fired.  He used all of the powders mentioned above.

I just hunt and all shots would have been good enough for me, but I had some VV N-133 and started loading with it.  To drag this out a little more it shoots little over 1/2" at 200 yards in tight little clusters, rarely over 3/4" it is the most accurate rifle I own and using 50 gn VMax, not the Match bullets you'd expect.

i'll be quiet now
