Suicides alter gun purchases

A York Wal-Mart changes its sales policy after two W&M students killed themselves with its shotguns.

WILLIAMSBURG -- The suicides of two College of William and Mary students with shotguns purchased recently at Wal-Mart has prompted a York Wal-Mart, where one of the guns was bought, to alter the way it sells guns to young adults.

Marty Marche, sporting goods manager at the Wal-Mart on Rochambeau Drive, said the fact that a college student bought a shotgun there before shooting himself has caused employees to begin asking more questions of young adults looking to buy guns.

Yeah, and Ford dealers should ask all young men who buy a Mustang, "Do you intend to excede the speed limit?"  "Do you ever drink before driving?"
 
Walmart is going to ask a young man, "Do you intend to stick this thing in your mouth and pull the trigger?"  The young man is going to say, "Gee, I never thought about that, can I still buy it?"  :roll: Or, maybe, "Yeah.  Do you have one with a shorter barrel so I can reach the trigger with my finger instead of my toe?"   :wink:
