RickG is right for the most part, but I have had some seaters damage bullets that had a different profile. I think it was a wad cutter shaped seater used with jacketed xtp in 44 mag (it would impress a slight ring around the ogive).
If you desire a seater that closely matches the bullet profile you can buy just the seater punch and swap it out in your die. You do not have to purchase a complete seater die unless you just want to keep from changing out the seater rod.
