I have one just like it too. .17 HMR. I just love it! Great off hand or prone stock.

One question in my mind, why no iron sights on a "Survivor"?

gino i have wondered that myself, being advertised as a survival weapon , it should have them , what i really get a kick out of is how they call the forearm ,,a storage foream???not much room there either , hahah  but anyhow , makes for a neat gun anyhow , still thinkinkin i want to work on the buttend ,add a recoil pad

Shaner,
Do you have a picture of the cheek piece you added? Is it a standard Choate item? How did it attach? Thank you.

Thanks Quick, I have not been able to see the picture but I guess it's one of those "butt-ugly" butt stocks. But(t) to give the devil his due, the old saying is "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"....<><....

Now the survivor I can deal with. I have a couple of my H&R's stocked that way (thanks Grampa Mike, we old guys never forget, you are a true gentleman!!). I did not like the survivor's at first but they really work well!!!
The Choate is another story, it's a "2 bagger" as they used to say in the service, one bag to cover it's looks and another in case the first bag broke!!! It's some UGLY!!!....<><....

hey MT3030 its a standard item # CMT-18-04-02
thats the catologe number , it is the same as they use on their varmint stock comes in either 5/8 or 7/8 in tall and connects with a single screw in the middle of it  sort of sets down overthe sides of the survivor stock yo u can see it on their web site
