That's what most of us shot back in the mid-70s because we couldn't afford jacketed, and we shot them all the way out to 200 yds.  It worked for me.....

That RCBS 180 SIL with H110 or 296 is hard to beat.

   For a while I shot the rcbs 200 fn bullet (212gr of ww) with 12.5 or 13gr W296. It was stout, but it shot well.  I havent done as much with the rcbs 180 but I'm going to give it another try.  Some folks used 12gr H4227 with the 200gr and had good results. It was a lot more pleasant to shoot than the 296 load. 
    Some 357 barrels had long lead-ins but mine does not. The rifling is very abrupt at the end of the chamber.  I used small rifle primers.  The usual load disclaimer is in effect.  Richard
