Is $85 a good price for a handi "Sportster" in 22 mag. ? Can a centerfire bbl work on a receiver in 22 mag ?

A simple answer to your 2 questions...

1)..Yes...if it's in good shape...

2)...no you can't...rimfire barrels work on rimfire frames...centerfire barrels work on centerfire frames...the firing pin placement is different...and the frame isn't as strong on a rimfire as it is on a centerfire...

The price is good!!! The 22mag Sportster is a great addition to your collection.....now add  17M2, 17Hmr and 22Lr barrels to it!!! :-D

YEP!!! You were warned. You should have paid attention. :)  I have not been bitten by the rimfire bug yet. I have a couple Savage little Favorites that I enjoy so much that I never looked and further.
shot placement is everything.

I got one of those too James B...fun little bugger...it was a rat when I bought it and bought it cheap...(pawn shop) ...cleaned it up and sent it off and had it coated and refinished the stock and hung a small tasco scope on it.....it's a good little shooter and will put a tree rat's eye out....8)
