I Just got a t/c weaver style scope mount for my encore barrels. When I got it it was missing 1 screw.
I have a lot of screws that went to my contender mounts. I called T/C and they told me the screw size was the same just the encore screws are longer then the encore.
I got to looking at the contender & encore weaver style bases and the hole pattern looked the same. I asked the person on the phone and she would just say that the encore screws are longer and the bases have different part numbers.
I bet if you take a contender scope base and put it on an encore barrel it will work. I would not use the shorter screws on anything that the contender is not chambered for.
anyone try this?

I think the barrels are different diameters, that would mean different radii on the seat where the base contacts the barrel. The mounts wouldn't set flat and/or you would distort the base when the screws are tightened.

Ed is correct on barrels being different diameters. The screw threads are the same.
