Win 748 in .308
« on: April 26, 2005, 01:05:55 AM »
Hello to all! I'm working up a load for my Rem. VSS. I'm using Lapua cases; Fed 210M primers; Hornady 165gr Interbonds; & I'd like to use up some Win 748 powder I have. The load data card that came with my Lee die set says 42grs. Also, I printed a page form Winchester's website. It says 42grs, too. I went to the Reloadammo website and, while 748 isn't listed for the 165, it is listed for 150gr(48.5); & 180gr(46.5). Now I'm not looking for a max load  here, I just can't understand why a bullet that's between these two would use so much less powder. Would anyone care to weigh in on this? I'd appreciate your feedback. Thanx, jd45
