fiocchi golden pheasant
« on: November 09, 2004, 02:38:42 PM »
hey
i tried some golden pheasant sunday on some ringnecks and chuckar
1 3/8 oz #6 shot  this is by far one of the best pheasant loads i have ever used   BUT!!!
IT WILL ABSOUTLY DESTROY ANY CLOSE FLUSHING CHUCKAR!!!
i learned the hard way on the first flush of the day  everything was perfect until i pulled the trigger   and completely took off the birds left wing and shoulder
so i started shooting at them after they were about 30 yds out or more
i dropped a long chuckar at about 50 yds with it too
guess ill try some 1 1/8 oz on them instead
anyone want two boxes of 1 3/8  ??

If you have screw in chokes, you could open up some and use the 1 3/8.

I have used the Fiocchi # 5's very successfully for turkeys.  A lot cheaper option at $10 a box of 25 than the $7-8 for 10 turkey loads.  Great ammo, I get them from Cabella's
