22-250 loads
« on: April 27, 2005, 11:42:54 AM »
Anyone have any opinions on bullets and powder for a 22-250. I'm looking at a fun plinking load with 40gr nosler BT and a 55 gr load. I also am looking for a good bullet in the 55gr range for deer.

A load I've been wanting to try on deer with my 22-250 is a 60 gr. nosler partition. Useing imr 4320, the load I'm working with now is 33.7 grains about 3500 fps. Best group I've gotten so far is 3/4 inch at 100 yards. My rifle shoots best with 50 gr BT's. A 3/4 inch group at 100 is plenty good enough for deer since effective range energy wise is only good to 200 yrds.

Just got another 22-250, Remington 700 LV SF, and trying to work a load up for this gun.  I sold my other 22-250 last year, but believe I was shooting 35g Varget with 50g Nosler BT.  Killed 3 deer with it a couple of years ago, and none went out of sight.  Did a good job on the inside of the deer.

Wanting to work up a load with the Partion, or maybe with the 52g TSX.
