"Two hunters injured near Tarsney Lakes
"Two eastern Jackson County turkey hunters were shot Sunday by a third hunter who apparently mistook them for turkeys. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call about 7:30 a.m. near Tarsney Lakes, Deputy Ronda Montgomery said.
They soon got a second call from the two injured hunters. According to early reports, the two injured hunters and the third man were in the same area, calling turkeys, Montgomery said. None of the parties realized the other wasn't a turkey. As they got closer, the third hunter opened fire.
The men who were shot went to a hospital with injuries that were not
life-threatening.
The third hunter later contacted authorities. No charges were filed Sunday.

For those unfamiliar with the mid-west Tarsney Lakes is just east of Kansas City. I wonder if these guys had been hanging around the cooler just a little too long?
