Warning About Ghillie Suites
« on: April 27, 2005, 08:23:57 AM »
You fellows all need to read my latest post in the Bear Hunting forum.  I have been using a Chillie suite when out hunting preditors.  I'm not using it anymore.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

We use G. I. issue "tree tog" ghillie suits(chaps and coat) for all of our varmint hunting and haven't had anyone take us for a bear yet.  Even at my size.  Maybe those Cabela suits needs to be of darker color?  Lawdog

The one I was using is one I handmade myself.  It's predominately Brown, with Black and Tan sections.  I used those colors because that's the colors we have here during most of the hunting seasons.

I also make my own like I learned inthe Army and have never had an issue with people mistaking me for anything because they can't see me unless I move.  One warning is that you should keep it outside so they don't absorb human smells.
