17 Tracker Scope Question
« on: March 01, 2005, 01:21:22 AM »
So I went to throw on a cheap NCStar scope I had laying around in my gun cabinet on my 17 Tracker and cannot believe how poor the rings are. I know they are very low quality, but they are not even centered on my Taurus base. The scope is hanging out over the left side if the barrel. Did I just get a really bad set? Lol.

I did the same thing. The Tracker mount is a little different than a regular Weaver base. I had to swap the rings that came with the scope with Weaver rings to get it centered enough to zero. First 7 shot group @ 25 yards measured .320".

Thats odd. Is the Taurus mount, advertised as a weaver style base, wider than a real weaver base? I've never seen that before.

I took your advise and added a good weaver ring set. I also ordered the new Hogue grip that just came out. All is good now:)

What is the model number for the Taurus Tracker model 17 scope base? Also how is that Hogue grip working out and what should I pay for these things?
Go out and get yourself a Concealed Weapons License. I did. :gun4:
