Heavy bullets not accurate in super 14 / HELP
« on: May 19, 2005, 02:59:15 AM »
I have a stainless 223 super 14 contender barrel that I am trying to shoot subsonic EBR 63gr Match ammo out of. TC told me the barrel twist was 1/12. I think I am going to need a barrel in 1/7 or 1/9. If anyone could reccomend a barrel source it would be great. Thanks

I just read about a .22 caliber round called .224TTH. It is chambered in slow twist guns to stabilize heavy, long .22 caliber bullets to hunt deer sized game. TTH stands for Texas Trophy Hunter. They have a web site here:  http://www.ttha.com  I haven't really looked to see if they mention who makes the barrels but I think you could find out. There is an article about the .224TTH here: http://www.ttha.com/224tth.htm. It’s a long article.  I didn’t read it all to see if they mention where the barrels came from. Hope this helps.[/quote]
Love those .41s'

dboutdoors,
aside from the usual sources like Fox Ridge, Belm, SSK, Bullberry, etc., I've heard nothing but good about Mike's work at OTT.

There are lits of barrel manufacturers out there. A little light searching can turn up enough to keep you broke for lifetimes! :D
