I finally got my new 223 ready for the range.  I picked up the regular stocked 223 Handi with the bull barrel.  I had a spare camo laminate stock that I put on it, and mounted a Swift Premier 6-18x44 scope with Burris "high" rings.  I picked up a few boxes of the Winchester 45 gr jhp, gave the rifle a good cleaning, and headed for the range.  

The rifle performed great.  Not much recoil with the 223 round and the extra weight of that bull barrel.  Every empty round was ejected nicely.  It's like my rimfire NEFs on steroids!  Since this was the first box of ammo I ran through it, I didn't keep track of my group size that closely, but I think I'm going to be happy with it.  I did notice that the first shot out of a clean barrel is a little higher than the others.

Glad you like your 223 Moonlitin. These are great little guns and the 223 does very well in them.
My 223 shoots a little better when it's not the cleanest.
How do you like the Swift scope you are using?

I like the Swift Premier line of scopes.  It's a nice scope for the price.  I have the 4-12x40 on my NEF 17hmr and 22wmr rifles.  EABCO sells the 4-12x40 for $139 and the 6-18x44 for $187.

I, too, have noticed a significant differance in POI from a clean barrel.  All I do now is run the dry brush down the barrel after the range.  If I must clean it I make sure to "dirty" it up before hunting with it.

There is about 3" diff in my clean and dirty shots.  Really weird but I live with it.
