Got out to shoot a little yesterday evening and had some pretty good results. My new .243 Ultra printed 2 shots that were .673 center to center with the factory Hornady 58 gr. Molys. Took the 30-30 too and printed 2 shots that measured .970 with some Federal HI-Shok 150 gr soft points that I picked up from an estate sale for $5 for 24ct. boxes. Only got two boxes, may be getting some more.
Both groups were at 100 yards and were the last shots that I fired for the day. These were the get on paper at 100yd. shots and then I was out of time. The .243 is still at less than one box of ammo thru it so it's really gonna be a shooter. Today I'll shoot some three shot groups and sight in to the bull. Plan to move out to 200 yards with both afterwards, but I'll be using some 110 grain handloads in the 30-30 for that. The .243 is looking very promising for the upcoming prarie dog shoot and with the Hornadys it ought to really chunk 'em up!  8) Hoping that the 30-30 will preform well at that range with the handloads too. I'll try to post some pics of the groups but I'm still kinda new to the pic taking-downloading-posting process.

Yep. You can expect bvetter performance as the barrel breaks in, at leat that''s bgeen my experience.
The other day I ran some JB Bore polish through my .223, and when I went to shoot it the first shots were almost scattered. But the next group was much better.
Ohhhh, I hate when that happens

I hope those 110gr bullets shoot for you. That 1-10 twist in the newer handis might like the heavier bullets. Good luck.

My 30-30 Handi (1-12" twist) likes 150 gr Hornady Spire point over 38gr w748 with cci250 primers. Very accurate. For some reason the max doses of 748 work best in my handi. The pressure in the Winchester powders is much lower than the other ball powders I've tried in that burn rate.
