I had some fun the other day on the range with a couple of gentleman older and with a lot more money that I have and did they have an interesting gun to shoot. Obviously it was a Glock,or it would not be on this forum but for information it was a 20 with a Doctor Holo sight on it. Great site arraingment also it is only about 3/4 of an inch high,and is made out of aluminium. It will not affect how the gun fits in a holster or for that matter any of the duty rigs that I had used prior to retiring. O.K...now the fun part. We were shooting plates with this critter and that sight was the fastest that I had ever used on a handgun. Battery life is 6 years,so it can be left on the constant on position and is also rigged for differant sight brightnesses. I put it on the lowest position even though I was shooting in the daylight , never liked a holo sight or optic sight that was bright anyway. This outfit was just plain........fast. Anyway you want to look at it,and was far faster that the normal handgun sights that I was used to. The interesting thing is that I never liked any type of optic sights on a duty related handgun,to many things to go wrong with em(Lazer included). Now,these guys were not using it as a duty type rig,but as a gun for just plain shooting fun,and for personal protection. I will have to admit that I missed the first steel plate that I shot at,but the other five fell just like dominoes. I aloways liked the 10mm as a handgun round,and this kind of cinches it for me. As soon as I can afford it I am going to come up with one(as in another). They also had one on a Kimber .45 that was ALMOST as much fun to shoot. The sight is made in Germany and the mount is made in the same place. They can be purchased for the Glocks,Kimber,and most of the 1911 clones our there. I hardly ever at any time will give a nod to something new on the market,but I will say that this is a VERY interesting set up. I generally like the old addage of keep it simple,but this set up has my attention. Now,I wonder where my G22 is at right now. HMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Stay safe...............King :roll:
