The accuracy of a rifle is greatly affected by the metal fit into the stock. Fitting a stock to an action is not rocket science and most wood working experience won't be of great assistance. I would start with a less espensive piece of wood and we'll walk you thru it.. There are some specialized tools needed but they are not too expensive. Time is the biggest expenditure. Laminates are more difficult to work with than solid woods and fancy wood more so than plain. These differences are mainly due to the density variation in the blank. It's easier to have an oops in wood where the density and grain flow changes constantly. It is something you can learn if you have the time and patience.
