CZ 452 in 22WMR
« on: June 05, 2005, 10:00:45 AM »
Looking for a new 22mag. The CZ's are looking pretty good but I'm wondering if the 22mag is as good as the 22lr seems to be. Also the 452 comes with an adjustable trigger, but I am seeing spring kits for them. Is the adjustment just for creep or can the pull be adjusted?
Thanks in advance for any info (good or bad) on this gun.

The trigger on the 452 can be adjusted to a feather like touch, mine has to be under a pound. After I get done shooting my other rifles I have to remember this,it seems all I have to do is touch it and it will go off. From what I have read the Cz 22 mag isn't a sure thing like the 22lr,I wanted the CZ 22 mag American, but went with the marlin 982 vs instead.

Well, I just picked up a 9422 legacy in 22 mag and ran some ammo tests and was able to get CCI + V and Super-X 40 FMJs touching at 75 yds.

Now that was with a creepy and heavy trigger out of a barrel banded lever action with semi-buckhorn sights.  I am willing to bet with that CZ 452 bolt action with adjustable trigger + scope,  you could get the premium lines of 22 WMR ammo to touch @ the 100 yd mark, if not the 125 mark.    Especially that Remington Vmax load.
Amazing what one can accomplish when one does not know what one cannot do!

I have two 22 WMR CZ's, an American and a Varmint, both will do 1 - 1 1/4 inch at 100 yards, 5 shot group with the ammo they like.

My Marlin 982vs will shoot a 1 inch group with Remington premiers,I'v only tried one other kind of ammo with it(so far) the CCI maxi mag 40 grain hollow point,it would only shoot about 1.5 inches at 100 yards.I really like the Premiers

OH! forgot to add I had to rework?modify the trigger,to get that 1 inch group.out of the factory that has to be one of the worst triggers made.My first group was probably 3 inches, after 10 shots I knew I had to do something, didnt even try any more until I reworked the trigger.
