Swab Out

It is pretty well a given, that triggers on the Ruger MK II are not of the highest quality. However, I see now, that Ruger is making a "target/varmit" trigger for some of their product line.

Would it be possible to swab out the trigger, sear and sear spring on the conventional MarkII for the target one. Ruger claims 3lbs crisp no creep.


Will it work?

Has anyone approached Ruger on this?

Good question.  I always found it easier to just replace the Ruger trigger with an adjustable Timney trigger.  Simple, easy and after you're done you have an adjustable trigger that helps with resale value should you want to sell or trade it off.  Lawdog

I've had good luck with the Dayton Trister Trigger on MK IIs I have done a few with both Timney & the Dayton which costs a little less. Yes you do have to do some thing because the Ruger trigger leaves a lot to be desired. Good luck..........Joe.........
