New offering for 44mag from Beartooth

This is a 265gr. Gas Checked bullet from Beartooth.  They can be purchased sized from .429 to .432.  Meplat is .430

Looks like it might be worth a try out of my Handi .. any comments?

Yea, seems kinda odd to me the meplat of a ,429 bullet could be .430???

That should be an exellent bullet. Take the Lee 310 mold, machine off the gas check shank and you get a plain base version of that, shoots a bit over 1400 fps just fine, I killed two deer with it, at a muzzle velocity of just 1275 fps. Great bullet, the gas check version should be capable of 1550-1600 fps, as fast as the case and 22" barrel can push it. Mine shoots itty bitty groups too.

Edit, added the following paragraph:

If you are into casting, Saeco offers a mold for both a plain base and gas check versions, but I don't think it has quite as wide a meplat, but should still be a great bullet.
