Who reloads for their .223 Handis?

I shoot the Winchester white box 45gr jhp factory loads in my .223 Handi.  I've been saving the brass, but I don't reload anything right now.  If I had the equipment, I could reload for my 223, 9mm, and 357.

Should I even think about reloading when I can buy the Winchester white box ammo for around $12 a box of 50?  Or should I just keep saving the empty brass and give it to my friends here at GBO?

if you got the time i would start reloading ,i've only been doing it for about 1 1/2 years but it has been a lot of fun just about as good as shooting .

BTW chances are if you reload your groups will be better and cheaper ( but then again you'll probably shoot more too so scratch the "cheap" part)

I just picked up a Saiga .223 too.  It looked like a fun and inexpensive alternative to the Bushmaster that my son really wants.  

When he gets his hands on that thing we're going to really generate some empty brass because it's a, um, well I don't know if I can use this word in the NEF forum of GBO..."semi-automatic"...so if I don't start reloading...I'm going to have to do something with all of that once fired brass.

To be honest if you're satisfied with the accuracy you get from the ammo you're using you're about as well off to just keep using it. You're not going to save a huge amount of money over that price reloading unless you use some pretty cheap components. You have to figure not less than ten cents on most bullets, add in at least two cents for primers and anywhere from a nickel up on powder. How much is your time worth?

Now if you aren't happy with the accuracy or if you just like to constantly look for a better load then maybe reloading is for you. But you have to figure on dropping from $150 to over $300 generally to get properly set up to reload. How long will it take you to shoot enough reloads to save up that much?

Oh by the way iffen you're looking for someone to give that brass to I've been set up for nearly 40 years now so I'm still doing it. Send them my way iffen ya wanna.

after my dad (broken-arrow) started reloading for mine,it did wonders for the accuracy.

Don't even think your going to save money reloading.  I spend way more on shooting now that I reload.  I spend alot!  It snowballs.  more equipment, more components, more guns...  Gas to drive to the range, club membership... The wife's retaliatory spending (she still can't keep up with me.)  

This weekend, I sold some of my duplicate die sets at the gunshow, and got a set for 6.5x55 in a trade.  I don't even HAVE a rifle in 6.5x55!  But now I just have to get one!  

So no, I don't save any money reloading.  I have lots of fun.  I shoot more than anyone I know.  I think I enjoy reloading as much as shooting.

None of this is practical.  I have 12 rifles, but I don't even hunt deer with a rifle anymore.

I use alot of the white box winchesters And they are a good standard, always shoot the same and wally worlds always got'em, BUT.... I enjoy reloading it's part of my hobby and you learn alot about your skills doing so.

you do spend more(on powder, bullets,etc..) but consider reloading per box you do save alot,and you can get much better accuracy by reloading.
