I have been seeing an increase of Rossi ads in lots of different mags. do you think they could become a threat to H&R/NEF ?

I think NEF will keep their sales going strong for years to come.

I think that improvments in the Rossi products is good for competition and that's good for Us Handi guys.  If NEF is paying attention, the increased popularity of the Rossi's will keep them on their toes and could spawn some new calibers and combos.  That would be good for us.  I hear they are also gonna have a barrel program now.  I have seen them in the stores, but I don't know how they compare with the NEF's and don't know if you can swap the barrels around either.  Whatever they do,  I will still be buying NEF because they are pure American.  Not many things are anymore.

NEF vs Rossi ?

Roughly two years ago I purchased a new Braztech (Rossi) SSR in .357 magnum. After firing just over 100 rounds through it, I noticed a significant amount of erosion had occurred around the firing pin. I don't know what kind of material Rossi is using for their receivers, but it sure can't compete with the durability of the material NEF uses.

BTW, I traded that Braztech for a used .243 Handi. Best transaction I ever made.
If at first you don't succeed, by all means try again. But if this doesn't work, give up, because there is no sense in making a darn fool of yourself.

I picked up a Rossi .410/.22 matched pair in stainless and I could not be happier with it so far.  It's quality compares favorably with that of the .280 Handi and .410 Topper that are in my collection.  I just think that the word hasn't gotten out yet about the Rossi's.  Don't forget H&R/NEF has a 120+-  year head start on Rossi in the US single shot market.

I could never give up the H&R/NEF  they have been in the family to long. When ever we would go woods roaming as kids there was always a 12  or  410 with us , i think they were called topper models.
