I have a 5mm 591 and still shoot it, fine gun and very hard hitting. Muzzle energy of 372ft.lbs. energy at 150yds is 164ft.lbs. with a hard hitting cartridge like that makes you wonder why the 17HMR? Mag-Check

Welcome aboard, Mag-Check!! :D Makes ya wish Remington handled the 5mm marketing and production like Hornady did with the 17hmr, it might still be around if they had instead of keeping it to themselves, so to speak! :(

Where do you find ammo for it?
Last I saw was about $3.00 a shot!

Remington is really Pee Poor as far as I am concerned with their customer relations dept as how they handled the  740 Semi auto centerfires. The recievers were faulty and if they went to heck too bad we do not make them anymore buy a 7400. they did give you a credit for a while but it was not worth what a fellow had into the gun.  :x  :x  :x  That rant said, Too bad you could not get them to make a run of ammo but I doubt if they would do it. It was nice to see that other rimfire ammo makers made a run of the 22 WRF ammo for folks who had guns chambered for it. Too bad Remington would not do  for the 5mm but I think their attitude is after you buy our product too bad if we do not make it anymore. So I really doubt they would.  Too bad some one else would not pic up the ball and run with it.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

I have a left hand 592M and 17 boxes of ammo. (maybe more, i'm still looking  :>)) ?)

I bought it new many many years ago, and IMHO it kills better than a 22 Win Mag. and also seems to be better than the 17HMR although i've not shot a ton of stuff with the 17 like i have the 5mm and 22 WMR.

"If" ever the time was right for the 5mm Rem. mag. it's NOW!!!

I also wish they would make a huge batch of 5mm ammo, but if they do i sure hope they keep exactly the same bullet they used before!!!!  I've always felt the 5mm did such a "great job" because of the bullet design.

That is the only one I have ever seen in left hand
configuration! That is a pretty rare piece I'll bet.
