I man I know who owns a pawn/gun shop has a Ruger Blackhawk, it is blued, with black Pachmayer grips, and about a 4-5" barrel. It has the flattop like the new one advertised at Ruger, but this one is a few years old. He will sell it to me for 300.00 out the door total. Are there better deals to be found, or is a good deal?? I am not a pistol guy, but a shotgun guy, but am now starting to pick up a few pistols.

It could be a good buy depending on if it's a new or old model. If it's an actual flat-top 44 old model and you don't HAVE to have it you could turn a profit by re-selling it to someone who's in the market for one just like that, like me. If it's a new model that's a little better than average price.

I have the New Model Blackhawk 45LC and if thats what you're talking about I'd say its a good deal. If its just the blackhawk it a fair deal.

It is a good deal if it's an old three screw flat top and the condition is good as well. If you're going to own a Ruger, it might as well be an old three screw.

If it`s a 3 screw model I would buy it in a heart beat. If it`s the new model I would pas it up. Cock the hammer and see if it has a transfer bar between the hammer and the fireing pin, if it does not buy it, but alwasy carry it on an empty chember as they can go offed if dropped.

A like new BH for 300 is a fair deal around here reguardless of when it was made.

for sure any 3 screw in good shape is worth that even if its not a flat top
