Ok, So I just picked up a new/used SPS in .270. I say new cause it was purchased relatively when the this model 1st came out. The owner never fired a single round thru the barrel. Now although the trigger broke to factory specs at close to 4lbs I did'nt like that. So I adjusted it myself and for the life of me could'nt remove the awful creep or grittyness. Today I just installed a Timney Trigger and she breaks crisp & clean at 2.5lbs. I musta got one the Gremlin triggers.

I bought a used (older model)700 in 7mag a couple years ago and last year while sighting in,as soon as I flipped off the safety it fired after that it was fine until this year it did the samething. I took it to a gunsmith and it was clear that someone had tried adjusting the trigger. I had him send it back to remington at the end of november,I got it back today with a new x-mark trigger that feels really nice. Cost was s&h,insurance $50 and I'm very pleased that remington took care of the problem.

I just adjusted the triggers on both of my Remington 700's.  I made the trigger a little heavier on my 700 BDL 223 Rem.  It was SUPER LIGHT, to light.  I lightened the trigger on my 700 Classic 280 Rem.  Now they're about the same.  Nice break, with no creep and no over travel.  All I did was adjust the outside weight screw in the front of the trigger group, the screw closest to the actual trigger it's self.
