I just bought my first Ultra rifle and I was wondering if you can still purchase the 30.06 ultracomp barrels.  I did not see them on the H&R1871 website. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You can't really depend on their website. Your best bet is to call CS and ask them. Make sure you ask for jennifer when you call.

:D  Hi mmb1226 and welcome. I hope you give us some range reports.
Varminter is right; you really can't rely on their web site. Not sure why that is.  I hope your handi rifle shoots good, the two that I have shoot pretty good. If you ever need any help there are quite a few good people here who would be happy help you.

The website is not updated like it should be. If you have a question that none of us can answer your best bet is to call CS.

Welcome aboard, mmb1226!! :D  The Ultracomp barrels are not a standard item, they are left overs from a previous run when they were issued a few years back, they had .270 and .30-06 UC barrels in stock recently, but the only way to know if you can get one is to call em and ask, they should give you the part number to put on the barrel order form. Be sure to ask for the Ultra scope rail that's supposed to come with it, or you won't get one....if you want one that is....They'll send the standard rail if you don't mention it.

I can tell you I am very happy with mine. I bought a 30-06 and a 270 ultra comp barrel about a month ago. So far the 30-06 is shooting great with evrything. The 270 is a little more finicky but I think I have the right load with it now. It does not shoot Rem 130 gr corelokts or Hornady 150 SST's but 130 gr Ballistic Silvertips are doing very well. My plan was to sell the one that was the worst shooter. Now I don't know what to do. But right now the 30-06 will be my deer rifle this year unless something changes. It is shooting great with cheap Rem 150 gr corelokts and 150 SST's. It also does great with Varget, H4831 and IMR 4831.
