.45 COLT ?
« on: May 22, 2005, 03:37:38 AM »
Did they ever make a handi rifle in 45 Colt? I asked this because i see in there Accessory barrel catalog  they list part #41C as a .410/45Colt,20" for $81.00and part 041 is a .410 26" full choke barrel $ 39.00 Its in the Handi Rifle/Pardner Shotgun  barrel section. I had never realized that you could turn your handi rifle into a shotgun if you wanted to . (except 10 guage)

Ya, I do believe the only Handi in .45 Colt I have seen is those "survivor" rifles.

its a 3 in chamber 410 rifled barrel that has a screw in choke to stop the shot cut from spinning to get a pattern. you can remove the choke & shoot 45 colt. I never had good luck with the 45 loads  even with proper sights on it(comes with a front bead only) too much jump for the boolit. haven't given it much more thought to it but if you could get a longer case blow out a 444 or 303 or something like that & use light loads on a shot gun frame or a little more on a SB2 not real excited with this one but would like a 45 colt chambered barrel
hope this helps

I have the 45/410 Barrel.  It groups about 6" at 25 yrds.  And that is with a scope.  It's too short for a fence post and too light for an anchor.  so what to do with a barrel that won't shoot :?
Has anyone seen 410 brass?  I have two shotguns and a handi rifle.  I thought I could create something like a short 45/70 for my H-R.  That would be a hoot for deer and bear in the brush 8)

Welcome aboard, Freezer! :D  Were ya shooting the 45 ammo with or without the choke tube installed?

Freezer,
What is going on with those groups?!!!  Though a .45 barrel might be just the ticket to go with my Ruger SBHH, but you scared me away!!!
