Full Moon - Strong Current

I have noticed that when there is a full moon - or close to it, the currents really pick up and get very strong. When fishing in bays or other shallow areas, it is noticeable because the low tides are lower, and the high tides seem to be higher, and the movement is rapid.
When fishing offshore, you really can't tell as easily because there is no structure upon which to mark it. However, once you put your line in the water - THEN you know. For example, I was fishing in Key Largo yesterday and I put a 10oz weight on my line. We were fishing in 135' of water and the current pulled my line as if a kingfish was hooked.
Yes, I'm exaggerating, but you get my point - the current was very very strong.
Have any of you guys noticed this too? How does this effect your fishing?
