buy a dillon or a hornady! you wont regret the extra money you spent in the long run because a year or so down the line youll be ready to get rid of that 1000

I have been using only lee presses for over 20 years with no problems what so ever , first off how much are you going to be loading //2000 rounds a year or less go lee - 2000 rounds or more go with the dillon no question it is top of the line. are you going to use it for only 44s or you going to change cal.- i like the chang over time of the lee

A friend of mine has a 550 but only uses it for .40 s&w and uses a lyman for everything else

Priming system on the Pro 1000 is incredibly bad and subject to mass explosions. I got so disgusted at mine that I converted it to a straight turret press.

Have a friend that has one. Nothing but trouble. Go with a square deal at least. I use mine for 45acp and 9mm. Cranks out about 300rds an hour without trying hard. Very few problems with it.  KN

Thanks guys, I have heard more negative comments than positive about this press on this, and other sites. I'm going to use my single stage to get started.
