Handi Accuracy - .243 Superlight vs. Regular Barrel
« on: June 09, 2005, 08:54:47 AM »
I’ve read on this board that a lot of the Handi .243 Superlight guns have accuracy problems.  Problems that are due to more than just the lightness of the gun.

Does anyone know if NEF has addressed this?  Do the newer .243 Superlights still have this problem?

Do any of you shoot these guns off-hand?  If so, do you find that their lightness causes you problems in holding steady on the target?

I have had absolutely no accuracy problems with my 2 year old superlight in .243.I use Remington 100 grain ammunition and it has done the job in a most excellent fashion. It hits where I aim and I kill deer with it.
Maybe some people try to "Hot Rod" the load too much and sacrifice accuracy and then think it is the rifle's fault.Maybe I just got a good one.

I had a 243 superlight barrel that i wish i never got rid of. I'm not sayin it was a good shooter cause i didn't have it long enough to even set a scope on it. I got an itch for a 44 mag barrel and off it went. I love the feel of the rifle with the short barrel on it. Most of the time it's a hit or miss situation.....some dont shoot worth a crap then you get or hear of a few that are great. I think i might order another one from the factory.

I have a  handi.243 standard barrel and it shoots .75 to 1 inch at one hundred yards off a bench with reloads. I have not played with other loads yet cause I have only had the handi .243 for  4 months and been playing more with my .223 ultra ( 6 months old).  I guess I am pretty happy with my .243
