Besides the difference in price, is there any real differences on which to choose between a Fulton Arms or Auto Ordnance M1 Carbine?
Fulton Arms is quite a bit more expensive - is it worth it?

Paul - I guess the real question is whether you would want to pay that kind of money for either of those M1s. If you are just going to shoot it I would get the Fulton - they have a reputation for guns that work. The Auto Ordinance rifles may shoot for you but they won't be as good as the Fulton Armory Rifles - just my opinion thought and I hope we hear from others.

If you want the rifle for home defense and the like, for the money you would spend on the carbine you would be better off with an AK47 - they are less expensive and quite functional. You could spend even less and get a SKS. HTH. Mikey.

AN AK CLONE OVER A NICE HANDY M1 CARBINE !!!

(unfornately good advice though)
My M1 is a General Motors from 1944 and I love it
but I have also had it for decades! I would not spend
what it would cost to get one today. (I have seen them at
gun shows that were pushing the $700.00 mark.) I too would opt
for an SKS with at least a 20 round mag. Or a decent AK
clone. Be careful on the AKs though, Some of the ones
I have been seeing do not look of very good quality.
A case of ammo to put up would be a good idea also!

Thanks for the advice. I agree on AK's for defense role but I just wanted the M1 Carbine for fun shooting at the range. Besides, there is something in the little carbine that seems to make it the ultimate plinker for me. Maybe I'll go for Fulton Arms' version.

I just had my little IMI Carbine at the range, getting some young newbies aclimated to shooting. They loved the M1 Carbine, and it chugged along like the proverbial Timex! Excellent gun (no matter the maker) for training new shooters - nice bang with little recoil. :-)
