muzzle brakes
« on: May 30, 2005, 04:10:51 PM »
Have never been a big fan of muzzle brakes due to the increased noise volume.  A buddy of mine had a Vais break installed on his 7mm rum, rem 700 sendero, which is identical to mine.  I shot both guns with the same ammo and the you could tell a very noticable reduction in recoil. We had three other people standing off listening and they all picked the gun with the break install as being not as loud.  They didn't know which gun was being shot at the time.  I couldn't really tell a big differance in the volume, but a differant tone. The Vias break is addvertised to reduce recoil and not add noise volume. Has anyone else had any experiance with the Vais muzzle break? Thanks DM
