I have been wanting to do bear hunting, and have read that your state has quite a few bears. I know your area around Mtn Home as I used to fish the White River using Rose Fish dock. Please share some info on your bear hunting. I can always go for another trip to the "White"

I am from Arkansas originally and went bear hunting here in MT today. My hunting party did not get one, but it was exciting none the less. I am military and will be moving soon to MS, so I may be bear hunting in AR soon!

Did you guys ever put together an Arkansas bear hunt?

I have been trying to go for two years since the out of state tags are very reasonable, but cannot get my friends to suck it up and go.  Think they are afraid of bear hunting.

Looks like the archery season is really good beginning in October, followed by BP and gun.  I would be very interested in going this year if a couple of you guys wanna try it out.

How do you hunt for bear in Arkansas?  Bait?  Dogs?  Still hunting?  Stand hunting (I call this "ambush" hunting)?  Do you get the hides mounted?  How much does mounting a bear hide cost?

I have done not bear hunting.  I deer hunt near Tulsa for the last three years.  Last year I added a pronghorn antelope hunt in Wyoming.  I might be interested in bear hunting, but need to know more about how it is done.  I'm in the Dallas area, but hunt in Oklahoma because it is cheaper for me to hunt out of state on free hunting ground (I'm not charged to hunt on this land leased by a friend for cattle; leases in Texas are expensive, in the neighborhood of $1500 or more).
