the 500 S&W or the 460 S&W? Both are powerful. Both have long range capability. And, both are priced pretty much the same. I would appreciate your thoughts and opinions. Remember, only one can be purchased not both. Thanks.

I have both. I have 2 S&W500 and 1 S&W460. I am debating selling my 8 3/8 500 Mag and keeping the 4 inch 500 Mag as my back up gun. The 460 Mag has become one of my favorite guns to shoot. The gun is everything they say it is and more. I have only shot to 150 yards, but my point of aim is the same for 50 yards as it is for 150 yards with the 460 Mag. I was going to use my S&W500 8 3/8 inch for my up coming bear hunt but I may change my mind. I may just take my 460 Mag in it's place, but I will still have my 4 inch 500 Mag on my hip.

I have been shooting the 500 Mag since they were released 2 years ago, and I have shot well over 3000 rounds through all of my 500 Mag's that I have owned. With that said, the 460 Mag just seems to shine and would be my choice if I only had to have one or the other.  :D
