......a 26" Huntsman barrel from the barrel program? I know the blued gun is the only one available at this time, at lease that is the only one Sports South has listed as in stock.

I am wondering if they are rated for 150 grain powder loads like the 26" Sidekick? I don't shoot the magnum loads but am just curious what the max load is.

I got my huntsman a month ago. In a manual it says for loads: 40-120 grains loose powder and maximum 150 grains pallets only, for both conical and saboted bullets.

What did the manual list for maximum weight for conicals and sabots?

Does your gun have a 5/8" breech plug or the 7/8" plug?

Conical bullets 250 - 490.
Saboted bullets 200 - 300.

And about breech plug.... are you talking about length ? :oops: :lol:

Just measured the plug it is 5/8 . What difference does it make?

None really as far as performance. The new 2005 26" Sidekick barrels are also the 5/8" plug and was just curious about the 26" Huntsman. I have a 2003 24" Stainless Steel Huntsman and the plug is 7/8". I think the 5/8" would be a little better due to more meat at the breech end of the barrel.

If anyone is ordering one of Cecils .25 acp plugs you will also need to know what plug you have. Here is a link.

Thanks, so it seams that is a sidekick disguised as huntsman. :-D
So regarding the loads I should be able to shoot up to 102 grains of loose triple 7 ?

I have an '05 sidekick(same barrel,shorter receiver)and
have shot many,many loads of 105 grns. of loose T7 with
300 grn. bullets with absolutely no signs of a problem.
You should be fine with the loads you want to shoot.105
is the max load I've gotten to shoot good groups out of
mine,so no need for me to go higher.I do use PR's 25 acp
plug in mine.
