Anyone ever use these in any caliber? Will be using for 243 and maybe 30 cal but wondering if they leave a residue, if so is it hard to clean?

How do they compare accuracy wise and pressure signs (from reloads) to other bullets you've tried?

...yep...I used them...1 time...wasn't impressed with the groups I got...and wan't impressed with the cleanup either...but I did a very dumb thing and shot them after shooting a bunch of the Nosler's CT bullets...so I can't give a real objective opinion on them.I know I won't ever mix loads again though :roll:

Is the CT coated too? Are you suspecting it was the mix of coatings that might have caused issues?

Yep...the CT is the black Lub-a-lux coating on it...it's not like the Barnes coating...and they won't tell ya if it's got moly in it or not..They say they didn't get much out after cleaning with CR-10...well that's 1 of the cleaners I use...and you do get alot out after using it...but...you don't want to mix the 2. with out cleaning first.....what a pain it was getting all of that out of it... :oops:

I use em in my 270 abolt for deer. They are deadly. The coating seems to work fine , i never get any fouiling or anything.

If you do a google.com search for barnes xlc coating problems, you'll see that the coating is a dry film and reduces fouling and there are many happy shooters using the XLC.

Thanks, I was wondering cause of the info Barnes gave me on the 95gr coated bullets. They say it leave no residue??

They did say to clean up withCR-10 though.

My 85gr TSX came yesterday and I have some loaded up to try. One thing they were VERY adamant about is to start .050" off the lands and work closer, to a normal .020" off the lands. Closer can cause too high pressures. I read an article somewhere about this and it said the same thing. They DID say the TSX, with extra grooves, doesn't seem as prone, and that you can usually end up 1-2 grains OVER published load maxes. This came as a MS Woed attachment to their email.

They also sent a PDF file with published load data for their bullets.

I need to get out this weekend or Monday AM to try them out.
