No Ignition in My Knight.

Hi Guys..... I recently purchased a new domed breech plug for my Knight Disc Extreme. Took it out to the range today,and it would not ignite my 100gr. charge of 777.I tried 3 209 primers. They all snapped good but my powder wouldn't go off.  I went home, and checked the flash hole. On the original breech plug the hole is about .032" dia., on the new breeh plug ,I can see light thru it ,no problem, but my .032" wire wont go thru it. Does any one have one of the domed breech plugs and a way to measure the flash hole?These plugs are also the ones that are used in the Knight  Revelutions.Any Ideas? Need Help!!!............Ken

I use ascetylene(sp?) torch tip cleaners to run through my breech plug
holes, then mich them. Not totally precise, but very close.

Dunno which primers you are using, but Fed 209a's usually do the job
with smaller holes.

Try this.
make sure you have no powder in the parrel.
take a cleaning patch and shove it all the way down to the breach plug.
remove the ramrod make sure the patch is still in place.
go out side and fire one of your 209 primers.
this should push the patch all the way out of the barrel if it doesn't then use a patch puller and remove the patch and see how much it has burned. if you do not see any thing on or very little on it you may have a bad breach plug. if it pushes the patch way out you may have a powder issue.

I'm using Winchester 209's. Never had a problem with them, but will get some Federals to try. Also ,I took the rifle out with the original breech plug and it worked fine with the same batch of 777 2F. I'm taking both breech plugs to work and checking the hole diameters.I can tell the domed plug holes are a lot smaller than the original's just by looking at them.We have a couple of good wire drill sets(#60 to #80). They will tell the tail!!   How it going rickyp?.......Ken
