I listen to the radio while at the reloading bench or puttering around in the basement. My old "sound system", a 1980s vintage Panasonic portable radio has been deteriorating badly so I asked for a replacement as a birthday gift. I asked for a new radio with good reception.
My wife got me a Grundig FR200 (Radio Shack sells them). This thing is amazing. Reception is fantastic. MUCH MUCH better than the old radio ever was. As a bonus it's got short wave 1 and 2, a built in flashlight, an internal battery that you charge by cranking a hand crank (60 easy cranks charges it for about an hour.) It also runs on 3 AA batteries and an optional AC adapter can be purchased for about $10.
Cost of radio is about $40. It's really worth it if you are a radio junkie like me. This would be a great radio for in the kitchen too, or any other place you use a radio. They market it as an emergency radio, but that's just marketing. It's a good unit.
