I think we have been thru the bottom of the barrel and into the dirt for quite sometime if you get even a decent one your lucky now if you get one at all. Lets face it this stuff has been drying up for a while now the swede's are just about gone. The yugo sks's and yugo mausers will be gone soon too. But like i said before you can find some awesome war bring back garands being turned in by the relatives after the their old soldiers have passed on. I'm seeing some awesome guns going to the black hole in my local gun shop never to be seen again. If i was looking for one i would put the word in a local gun shop first you just may get an awesome gun much better and a lower price too with the cost of everything going up it just may slow gun sales down enough so you may get a great deal locally on one. We have to swing to where a new source maybe tapped to our advantage. When I look for something with the hands on viewing I like to see what i'm paying for and even if its a tad higher in price it just maybe a better buy if i can check it out personally.
I don't want to start a train rush here but i have a feeling with the European Union we won't be seeing to many more guns imported too mainly because i have a feeling they may shut the surplus stuff to the US off not to arm us anymore than we are. I think they would rather smash the stuff. So maybe some of this stuff isn't exactly drying up too. I can't bear the thought of smashing these treasures and pieces of history. Plus we better support the NRA wether you like it or not its the Anti's here and the European Union who wants us disarmed. Its time to unite for the biggest fight of our second amendment is a head of us yet and you have to be aware its been here for quite sometime and its going to get kicked up a knotch too. Lets do all we can to keep our gun rights and try to stop losing ground because we have but just don't realize it for some of our states have become and are trying to become Republics like Kalifornia its still spreading to other states but we just don't realize its a little at a time. Its with mainly large capacity mags and ammo you can see it when you order them the list of states they can't be sent to is growing. Wether you want to admit its growing or not it is. Its time to wake up and rally everyone needs to step up to the plate and do your part and join the NRA. We need more support in each state too so if they have more funds comming in we just may get more support locally in each state. The membership needs to grow way beyond what it is today wake up were losing ground before its too late!!!!
I've had my eye on the springfield armory M1 garands in both 30-06 and 308 but its the same story about the cast steel recievers and springfield armory having quality problems that keeps me away from the new ones. Maybe you may have a better shot at finding a war bring back since i have seen a lot of them turned in lately(hocked). BigBill
