Winchester 1200 - 1300 compatability

I don't know if this is a topic for this forum but I will ask anyway,

A friend has an old Win 1200 in 2 3/4 12G. Can he switch to  a 1300 barrel in 3"?

I believe the barrel will interchange but the 3 inch cases will be too long to eject from the action afte you shoot it.

you are right from what i know all 1200 were made  with 2 3/4 inch chambers  i had 2 both 20 and 12 guage a they did not co0me with 3 inch chambers

I wouldn't use a 3" barrel on a receiver and bolt designed for 2.75", but will a 1200 barrel in 2.75" work on a 1300?
