i have a .223 ultra and just sent it in to have a .308 mated to it...i am new to h and r single shots and all this and so far i love the gun...but i am curious...if they require per the barrel accesory program for you to send your gun in for them to mate the new barrel to the reciever...it must have an exact fit...now you have 2 barrels with an exact fit....but what if you shoot one caliber way more than another..it seems like the barrel and reciever would wear together..and the other barrel would not sao when it went back on it wouldn;t be mated true like it was before....maybe i am way off? or maybe the steel wouldn;t wear enough to notice...just something that was running through my head at 3am while i was patiently laying in bed thinking about how i can't wait to get it back from the factory

Welcome 870expressmag. As for the wearing thing I would say you would have to shoot one A LOT in order for anything like that to happen. These are tuff little guns and endure quite well. The actual working trigger action will wear over time, but it will make your trigger lighter. Something that hardly any Handi owner would complain about. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Like my brother always says "just shoot your gun".
I always like that saying. It pulls me out when I am getting too technical and swimming in details. I am sure you will be well pleased when you get it back. Keep us informed on how she shoots.

I would think the steel of the barrel lug would wear much easier than the pin in the reciever.  If that's the case you may eventually have some slop in the barrel you have shot extensively but your other barrels should still lock up fine.  In the event that does occour a little shim stock on the sloppy fitting  barrel lug will probably solve your problem.  The only report I recall hearing of a stretched reciever was a person who fitted a 300 win mag barrel on a handi frame.  The handi's are rated to about 50K PSI and the 300 win mag runs in the 62-64K PSI range.

There are several Handi calibers that exceed 50kpsi, pressure isn't the only issue involved or we'd have Handis in the magnum calibers...

270, 280, 30-06, 308 and others are all 60kpsi or higher...

It would be awesome if down the road they pumped up the Handi to cater the Mags. A wishful dream I suppose.
