If I might make a suggestion.
Try a 33 gallon drum since a 55 gallon is quite a strech for some folks.
Over the years I have invested most of my income in old whiskey and young women.
The remainder I just wasted.

Here's a shot of Old Paint.  While the pic was for the purpose of seeing how the head looked, you can get an idea about the body.

Old Paint serves several purposes.  He sometimes holds saddlebags from which we pull ammo.  Somewhere we have a saddle for him.  And we can put him in front of the buckboard for that realistic look (as if a wood and steel drum-ed horse looks real  )

And his best use is to "hook" the new members and visitors when they first come out.  When you look at him you just have to smile and know that you're going to enjoy the day.

Howdy Pards,

I just sign on to hang around this site and share some ideas with this group.

Keokotah ... I sent you an email about plans.

You can see a photo at http://www.nd.edu/~mstandif/cowboy.htm about half way down.

And No Cattle is right ... the next one I make will use a smaller barrel ... well I'm acually looking at using a big wire spool ... not the biggest but one that has a comfortable diameter.

Good Luck
