.243 loads needed
« on: June 15, 2005, 02:50:38 PM »
Gentlemen I am looking for any .243 loads that you may have.  This is my first 243 so targets will be the norm for now.  Do you have any pet loads?
I've been enjoying this site for some time. This is my first post and my first Handi.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks
Frank

Hello  and welcomeI hope this helps, but this is a good load for my .243 handi

Powder: IMR3031  34 grs
(35 grs of IMR 3031 is the max load according to my new Nosler Book)

Bullet: 95 grain nosler ballistic tip sptzer

Primer: Winchester LR rifle

OAL. 2.695... The maxium S.A.A.M.I is 2.710 and I did try different OAL's but it liked this one the best for some reason.

I get .75 to 1 inch groups, I also do have the fore end free floated.
Good Luck and congrats on your new handi,

Norse
